Regional Cancer Center Receives three-year Accreditation with Commendation from Commission on Cancer January 2013
PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is pleased to announce its Regional Cancer Center has received a three-year Accreditation with Commendation from the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons. A facility receives a three-year Accreditation with Commendation following an onsite evaluation during which the facility demonstrates a Commendation level of compliance with one or more standards that represent the full scope of the cancer program. In addition, a facility receives a compliance rating for all other standards.
PeaceHealth Southwest’s Regional Cancer Center received a perfect score for its compliance rating, as well as all eight commendations. A commendation is awarded when an organization exceeds the standard set by the CoC. Read more. |

Kearney Breast Center Designated an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence January 2011
Kearney Breast Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy).
Peer-review evaluations, conducted in each breast imaging modality by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field, have determined that this facility has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures, and quality assurance programs. |

Kearney Breast Center Receives Prestigious National Accreditation June 15, 2010
The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) awarded the Kearney Breast Center national accreditation which is a stamp of the highest honor for breast centers across the country. In fact, the Breast Center fulfilled 27 out of 27 of the standards of excellence for achieving the highest quality and most comprehensive breast care, advanced screening, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care. |

Modern Healthcare ranks new patient tower among top hospitals nationwide for design and guest amenities September 24, 2007
PeaceHealth Southwest was one of four Award of Excellence winners chosen by Modern Healthcare out of 181 entries. The winners are profiled in the magazine’s Sept. 24 issue, on newsstands today. Entries were evaluated on design excellence, functional utility, flexibility of design, and response to families and patients. Firstenburg Tower Earns Honors in The Columbian's review of best architecture in Clark County 2007
The Firstenburg Tower—standing tall as the highest man-made point in Vancouver—also stands out in the crowd among other examples of creative architecture from around Clark County. In a recent contest for The Columbian newspaper, the Firstenburg Tower made the top 10 on the list of Clark County’s Best Architecture.
A group of local architects were polled using criteria similar to the recent national poll by the American Institute of Architects. Members of the Vancouver chapter voted the Firstenburg Tower as #9 on Clark County’s list, and readers voted the Tower as their #2 pick.

2007 Outstanding Project of the Year Award from the Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau
PeaceHealth Southwest’s Firstenburg Patient Tower was recognized with a 2007 Outstanding Project of the Year Award from the Northwest Wall and Ceiling Bureau. The awards were announced at the association’s recent annual convention in Coeur d’Alene. The top five commercial and residential projects from the Pacific Northwest were selected for outstanding interior and exterior work. Performance Contracting, received an Interior Commercial Award for their work on the Firstenburg Tower’s lobby ceiling. The structure features a dramatic flowing form made from steel framing and drywall.
