James Reiss, MD

Dr. James Reiss, a specialist in cardiac rhythm disorders, was a faculty member in the Division of Cardiology at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU). He completed medical school in 1995 and internal medicine residency in 1998, both at the University of Washington in Seattle.
Before beginning cardiology training he spent nearly a year as the director of the American Medical Center in St. Petersburg, Russia. Dr. Reiss completed fellowships in general cardiology (2002) and clinical cardiac electrophysiology (2003) at OHSU. He was also awarded a Masters Degree in Public Health in 2003 at OHSU. He remains a clinical assistant professor of medicine in the division of cardiology at OHSU.
Dr. Reiss's area of expertise is cardiac arrhythmia, which involves all aspects of heart rhythm disorders including those requiring pacemakers, defibrillators, electrophysiology studies and ablations. He is fluent in Russian and has a personal interest in Russian culture.
