ICD-10 Compliance Announcement
PHSW leadership and our ICD-10 project team are aware of and are closely monitoring the recent announcements from the CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) regarding the delay for the ICD-10 compliance date, originally October 1st, 2013. As of this communication, a new compliance date has yet to be announced.
What does the delay announcement mean for PeaceHealth? We recognize this creates ambiguity for existing work. At this time the ICD-10 project team is moving forward as planned since many of the ICD-10 compliant upgrades are necessary to keep us current and also have features we need for Meaningful Use. When a new compliance date is determined, the team will assess our readiness and adjust the project plan accordingly. A careful review of budget and projected costs will be aligned with the new implementation and compliance dates set by CMS.
We fully recognize the ICD-10 preparation work done so far throughout PeaceHealth and appreciate your flexibility as we adjust our own plans to accommodate the delay announcement. Updates to our ICD-10 project plans will be shared as they become available.
