Menopause: Are we there yet?

How do you know when you've reached menopause? Once a woman has gone 12 months without a period, she's officially there. That final period usually is between the ages of 50 and 55. But getting there doesn't happen all at once. For most women, perimenopause (the journey to menopause) takes about 6 years.
