Health Care Administration PGY2 Program

The administration PGY2 at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center (PHSW) is a one year post-graduate training program that includes graduate credit towards an administrative master’s degree through the ASHP Foundation’s Pharmacy Leadership Academy (PLA).  The program is designed to prepare the resident for a leadership position in pharmacy administration.

    The resident is required to complete a major project of their choosing, including a poster presentation at ASHP, results presentation at Western States, and the submission of a manuscript.

    Residency Staffing

    An average of 4 staffing days are required monthly, and consist of clinical, central, and leadership staffing.

    Residency Requirements

    • PharmD or advanced pharmacy degree (Bachelor’s of Science) from an accredited college of pharmacy
    • Completion of a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency, and pharmacy staffing experience either through a residency or other hospital pharmacy staffing experience.
    • Washington state pharmacist licensure within 2 months of hire, and 15 hours of continuing education (CE) per year

    Benefits

    The residency salary is approximately $49,500.  Other benefits include: Medical, dental, and vision insurance; 14 days of paid time off; up to 7 days of educational leave; registration and travel stipend to ASHP Midyear and Western States conferences, and tuition reimbursement for the Pharmacy Leadership Academy.
