Family Medicine with Obstetrics

At Family Medicine of Southwest Washington, our obstetrics team offers comprehensive care promoting the health of pregnant women and their babies. We understand that all pregnancies are not the same and that an integrated team is necessary for optimal care. In addition to our doctors, our multidisciplinary team includes LPNs, social workers, and access to dieticians, and lactation experts.

What to Expect

Your Personal Doctor
The relationship between a mother-to-be and her doctor is a special one. We work hard to maintain that special bond by having our doctors on call for their patients. This ensures that your doctor will usually be the one to deliver your baby and take care of your newborn, in the hospital and after discharge. We are committed to you and your baby!

When to come to the clinic
To ensure a healthy pregnancy, and to give your baby all the advantages of excellent care, we want to see you when you are considering pregnancy and, of course, as soon as you know or suspect you are pregnant. Early in your pregnancy, you will see your doctor for monthly exams and to receive important information about nutrition, exercise and healthy lifestyle choices that affect you and your baby. Expect to see your doctor every other week after 30 weeks and weekly after 36 weeks.

After Delivery
You will continue to see your personal doctor for well child visits, postpartum care, birth control, and other issues as needed.
