Interests Dr. Whang earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at University of Washington and attended medical school at Albany Medical College. She completed her General Surgery residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center and fellowship in Natural Orifice Translumenal Endoscopic Surgery at University of Missouri. Dr. Whang’s areas of special interest are General Surgery, Minimally Invasive Surgery, Breast Cancer, and Gastrointestinal Cancer.
Her philosophy in patient care is listening to her patients, understanding their fears and goals, learning about their personal background, and developing the bond and trust essential for a successful patient-surgeon partnership. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, traveling, and spending time with her family.
