Neonatology Associates

Who We Are:

Neonatology Associates provides care for fragile babies at the Holtzman Twins Special Care Nursery housed adjacent to Southwest's Family Birth Center. This facility is a level II B Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with 15 private rooms and capacity for 18 beds. 

Currently Southwest Washington Medical Center is expanding the NICU by eight neonatal intensive care beds.  This unit will be designed to keep mom and baby together, offering sleeping accommodations so parents can be near their baby at all time.  This expansion will be complete in summer 2010.

What We Do:

We offer state-of-the-art-technology, dedicated respiratory service for the newborn, a dedicated pharmacy specializing in newborns, and specialized nursing staff with 13 certified in neonatal intensive care nursery. 

Neonatology Associates also offers maternal-fetal care onsite at Southwest. This subspecialty offers:

• level III fetal ultrasounds
• amniocentesis
• genetic counseling
• services related to high-risk pregnancy

Perinatal consultation is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (both inpatient or outpatient).
