Pink Power Raises $815,000!
More than 650 guests, 50 Pink Tie Guys, 20 vendors and 50 volunteers contributed to make Pink Power Strikes Again! one of this community's most successful fundraising events. Together with last year's Pink Power event, approximately $4.2 million was raised to build the new Breast Care Center at Southwest Washington Medical Center.
"The outpouring of emotion and support was phenomenal," said Jean Rahn, Executive Director of the Southwest Foundation. "We expect to begin construction on the new Center later this year and plan to open it mid-year 2009. The new Breast Center will save lives and keep families together."
Big Al's was decked in pink from head to toe, and Big Al's staff provided top-notch service and excellent food. Sandee and Al Kirkwood's generosity allowed 100% of all event ticket income to directly benefit the new Breast Care Center.
The Lucky Winners! The real winners will be those who use the new, state-of-the-art breast care center when it opens next year, but some were lucky and talented enough to win at the event. Drumroll...
