| Southwest's laboratory provides services to the outpatient, inpatient, and community outreach. |

| Outpatient Services : |
Phlebotomy, Limited Specimen Collection, STAT and Routine Laboratory Testing, Limited EKGs, Drug Screen Collection (limited to Southwest employees). |
| Inpatient Services: |
Comprehensive Clinical Laboratory and Anatomic Pathology Services. Education and in-service assistance available. |
| Community Outreach: |
Comprehensive Laboratory Services, including courier and phlebotomy, provided to physician's offices, long-term care facilities, clinics, and non-profit agencies in the community. |

The goal of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is to provide high quality, cost-efficient laboratory services to the hospital and the community.
Southwest Laboratory is licensed as a highly complex laboratory and maintains accreditation with the following agencies:

- American Association of Blood Banks

- JCAHO
- CLIA
