NICU Alumni Event Celebrates Healthy Baby Graduates
08/23/2012
Since the Holtzman Twins Special Care Nursery/Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) first opened in November 2005, more than 2,000 at-risk and fragile newborns have graduated from the acute care nursery to head home with a healthy start to their young lives.
PeaceHealth Southwest is pleased to celebrate these tiny graduates and their compelling stories during its first ever NICU Alumni Day, 2012. The event will be this Saturday, August 25, 11am-2pm and will be held on the front lawn at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical center (corner of East Mill Plain Boulevard and 92nd Avenue in Vancouver, WA). Although the event is by invitation only, journalists are encouraged to stop by to enjoy the festivities.
Parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters are all welcome to join the fun along with doctors, nurses and caregivers from the hospital. The event has a carnival fun theme and includes food, games, music, bounce houses, prizes and much more.
A recent expansion of the Holtzman Twins Special Care Nursery and the NICU has increased capacity so we can better care for even more of these special babies and their families. We’re grateful to the David and Patricia Nierenberg family for the donation that made this expansion possible.
PeaceHealth Southwest is pleased to offer state-of-the-art-technology, dedicated respiratory service for newborns, a dedicated pharmacy specializing in newborns, and specialized nursing staff certified in neonatal intensive care nursery. Our experienced team of neonatologists or neonatal nurse practitioners are on staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
