Stop a sneak attack
With today’s great advances in technology, it’s amazing what we can do to heal the body—especially when we take a proactive approach to health care. For people with certain income, language, or geographical limitations, however, access to primary care physicians can be a frustrating problem.

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is taking a major step toward reaching people at risk for heart and vascular (blood flow) disease by partnering with Life Line Screening® to provide low-cost heart and vascular screening events in Clark County.

Who can benefit from a screening? Take a look at the most common risk factors to see if you or someone you know is at risk of heart or vascular disease:

  • Anyone with parents or siblings who had a heart attack, heart failure, bypass surgery or heart procedure
  • Smokers or people who have quit within the past year
  • High blood pressure or taking medications for high blood pressure
  • Diabetes or pre-diabetes
  • Sedentary lifestyle
  • Obesity or overweight
  • High cholesterol, treated or untreated

In this country, heart and vascular disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women over 65 years old. The good news is that many of the risk factors can be modified in time to prevent serious complications.

If you don’t have a doctor or have trouble getting a timely appointment, take charge of your own health. Learn more about the valuable and affordable health screenings offered at a Life Line Screening® near you.
