University of Washington
R.J. was born and raised
in Mountain Home, Idaho, a town best known for it's Air Force Base and flatness,
despite the name. After eventually graduating from high school and a short stint
as a house painter, Dr. Axtell attended Albertson College of Idaho (and yes,
they asked if students wanted their diploma in paper or plastic) where he
majored in biology and minored in Chemistry. After college, it was off to
medical school at the University of Washington through the WWAMI program where
R.J. bounced from Moscow/Pullman to Seattle to Boise trying to find a place to
call home. After several trips to the Portland/Vancouver area, however, R.J.
finally found what he was looking for. When away from medicine, Dr. Axtell
enjoys disc golf, trail running, movies and Sportscenter. He has a special
interest in sports medicine, but enjoys the challenges and rewards that full
spectrum practice offers.
